MINDFULNESS is a tool you can use to help you maintain your life choices.By tuning into our feelings at any given moment we can detach from the internal dialogue that is attaching itself to the sensation and creating a drama about what we are experiencing at that moment. We can , instead fully experience the physical aspect of it by asking questions .
- take three deep breaths , breathing in through the nose and exhaling via the mouth
- sk questions I.e is this feeling like butterflies? Try and find the NAME of the feeling i.e is that anxiousness I'm feeling or excitment?
If it is a grumbling tummy , what kind of grumble is it? pain ( if its proper pain don't ignore it!!) or gargles? have I eaten/ juiced ?So instead of leaping to the most usual automatic reactive thoughts you are actively challenging them in just a few simple internal questions , whilst actually experiencing the physical feeling.That feeling will diminish and go away. It allows us to channel our thinking in a non judgemental way and help keep the mind in check so it doesn't get carried away in its own sub concious rant and demands. This will re balance and re center you as you will be focussed, so you can now make a rational and calm choice re what you are experiencing.
